Child Care – things a parent needs to know

Children from birth through pre-k are an important part of our church family.
Child care is provided for all services.
So that we can locate you easily in case of an emergency, please sign in and take a pager.
Be sure to let us know if your child has any food allergies, or if there are any special considerations for your child that would make the time with us more meaningful.
Please return the pager to the sign-in area when you pick up your child.

Parent/Child Dedications

Parent/child dedications take place within the context of our Sunday 11:00 a.m. worship. This special dedication service is not only an opportunity for the parents to commit to raising their child in the ways of Christ, it is also a reminder and covenant that our faith community will assist in the spiritual growth of the child.

Children’s Discipleship Class

Children who desire to take the first step in their spiritual journey, are invited to this class in which they learn about salvation and Baptism. Children who have recently made faith decisions and are preparing for Baptism, or who are asking “all the right questions,” are encouraged to attend this three-session class.

Passport Kids

In this four day summer camp for grades 3 – 6, children are “transported” to new places to help them learn how people live across the globe and how we can share God’s grace with them. Cooperative Baptist Fellowship missionaries are part of the camp experience at Eagle Eyrie Baptist Conference Center. There is a fee to attend this camp, and scholarships are available.

Music Camp

Virginia Baptist Music and Worship Arts Camp is hosted at Eagle Eyrie, the Virginia Baptist Retreat Center, located near Lynchburg, VA. Participants have a fun-filled week of choir, worship, and class choices (handbells, puppets, interpretive movement, banners, worship leadership, stomp, guitar, piano, etc).  Music Camp is for children in elementary and middle school, and is a wonderful opportunity to make lots of new friends! The camp is normally scheduled for the second or third week in July. There is a fee to attend this camp, and scholarships are available.

Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School (VBS) is a part of our spiritual formation curriculum for children age three through the completion of sixth grade. Taking place for five evenings during the summer, our VBS theme changes annually.
